Tinkercad

Tinkercad is a free, web-based 3D design and modeling software primarily geared towards beginners, educators, and hobbyists. Created by Autodesk, Tinkercad allows users to easily create 3D models, circuit designs, and simulations without needing any prior experience in CAD (Computer-Aided Design). The software emphasizes user-friendliness, providing a simple interface for designing 3D models and simulating electronic circuits, making it ideal for educational purposes and quick prototyping.

Tinkercad is widely used for various purposes such as 3D printing, creating design prototypes, and teaching electronics. It provides access to an online community where users can share their designs, collaborate with others, and explore various project ideas.

 Installing steps:

Since Tinkercad is a cloud-based platform, there is no installation required on the user's computer. It can be accessed directly through a web browser by following these steps:

1. Go to the Website: Open your preferred web browser and go to [www.tinkercad.com] (https://www.tinkercad.com/).

2. Create an Account: Click on the "Sign Up" button and create an Autodesk account. You can also log in using Google or Apple credentials if preferred.

3. Start Designing: Once logged in, you can immediately start designing by selecting "Create new design" for 3D models or choosing the "Circuits" option for electronics design and simulation.

.Tinkercad's scope covers a range of fields, including:

·         3D Modeling and Design: Users can create complex 3D objects by combining simple shapes, which can then be exported for 3D printing.

·         Electronics Simulation: Tinkercad allows users to create and simulate simple to moderately complex circuits, integrating microcontrollers such as Arduino. It supports a wide range of electronic components including resistors, LEDs, sensors, motors, and more.

·         Coding and Simulation: Users can integrate code into their circuit projects to simulate real-time interaction between hardware and software. This is especially useful for programming Arduino microcontrollers directly within the platform.

·         STEM Education: Tinkercad is widely adopted in schools and educational programs due to its simplicity. It helps students and hobbyists learn basic design, electronics, and programming concepts in a hands-on, engaging manner.

3D Modeling:

·         Custom Keychain: Design a personalized 3D keychain with text and basic shapes.

·         Miniature House: Create a simple model of a house with rooms, doors, and windows.

·         Toys and Gadgets: Design small toys, puzzles, or functional gadgets like a phone stand.

Circuits:

·         Blinking LED Circuit: Simulate a basic Arduino circuit where an LED blinks at a set interval.

·         Temperature Sensor Circuit: Use a temperature sensor (like the TMP36) with an Arduino to measure and display the temperature on a serial monitor.

·         DC Motor Control with Potentiometer: Build a circuit to control the speed of a DC motor using a potentiometer and simulate the motor’s behavior.

Integrated Projects:

·         Digital Thermomete: Design and simulate a digital thermometer using a temperature sensor and an LCD display with Arduino.

·         Basic Smart Home: Simulate a simple smart home model that includes a motion sensor to detect movement and an alarm system.

 Applications

·         Education: Tinkercad is extensively used in classrooms to teach students the fundamentals of 3D design, electronics, and coding. It is particularly suited for STEM education.

·         3D Printing: The platform enables users to design 3D models that can be exported as STL files for 3D printing. Hobbyists and makers often use Tinkercad to prototype and create objects for printing.

·         Prototyping: For those who need to create basic prototypes quickly, Tinkercad provides an accessible way to design and iterate without needing advanced CAD software.

·         Electronics Learning and Simulation: Tinkercad Circuits is ideal for students and hobbyists looking to learn about electronics, microcontrollers, and programming.

·         Design Sharing and Collaboration: The cloud-based nature of Tinkercad facilitates easy sharing of designs and collaboration among teams.

Multimedia Learning (ICT Classroom):

Introduction:  In this, the teacher will deliver some concepts with the aid of Software tools. These learning tools play a vital role in delivering subject knowledge. The students can identify the key points of the presentation in an easy way. Live demonstration can be an effective tool to present material in the classroom and encourage student learning. Multimedia combines basic types of media into a learning environment such as text, audio, video and graphics thus providing a powerful tool for teaching. This allows the students to pay more attention towards the concepts. It also helps the students to think and analyze the concepts in a better way.  Execution Plan:  The teacher explains some topics in their regular teaching process using Software Tools /Animation / Videos to simplify their presentation.  Outcomes:  1. Simple way of presenting subject knowledge than from the regular teaching practices.  2. Students can understand the concepts in a better way. Google Classroom User Manu

Civil Engineering : Project Based Learning

Method: Project work and Report writing The department has made it a mandatory requirement for every student to design and conduct a project, right from the fifth semester onwards which is beyond the regular curriculum for the semester. This helps the student to have a hands-on approach to the engineering design process and utilize the theoretical aspects they have learnt to develop prototypes and design experiments on what they have learnt. During the fifth semester, the students conduct a mini-project that focuses on the fundamental software design aspects of computer Science and Engineering. A project group consisting of a maximum of four members under the guidance of a faculty member explores a scientific principle related to their area of interest. The learning process is given more weightage during the assessment and not the results obtained.  Students in their sixth semester are encouraged to do a project which will help them to learn new technical skills with guidance from an a

Brainstorm Brigade

Group Discussion among the students Group discussions can be a powerful learning tool for students, as they offer several advantages and benefits. Here are some of the most significant impacts of group discussions: Improved Communication Skills: Group discussions provide students with an opportunity to express their thoughts and ideas in a collaborative environment. Through active listening and respectful communication, students can enhance their communication skills, including clarity, concision, and persuasion. Enhanced Critical Thinking: Group discussions encourage students to think critically and examine multiple perspectives on a particular topic. By engaging in constructive dialogue and debate, students learn to analyze and evaluate information, challenge assumptions, and develop reasoned arguments. Increased Engagement and Participation: Students who participate in group discussions are more engaged and invested in th
